Parksville is a small city with a lot of different roofs in it. There are detached houses on quiet streets, strata complexes and townhouse rows near the beach, resort condos, holiday rentals and older homes close to the Island Highway. What ends up in the gutters depends far more on which of those you own, and which trees stand over it, than on which part of town it’s in.
We clean gutters and downspouts right across Parksville, from Craig Bay and Rathtrevor Beach across the Englishman River, through the downtown blocks and out toward French Creek.
Which trees are over your roof
Start with the tree, because the tree sets the job.
At the Rathtrevor end, homes near the provincial park sit beside tall Douglas fir. Fir drops needles in every month and drops a lot more of them in a windstorm, so those gutters fill slowly all year rather than all at once.
Along the Englishman River the mix changes. Bigleaf maple, alder and black cottonwood grow on the banks and in the yards nearby. Maples drop broad leaves in one heavy burst in late fall, and cottonwood releases its fluffy seed in late spring. Each can plug a downspout opening on its own.
Closer to downtown and the bay there are fewer big trees. Those gutters fill with shingle grit, moss washed off the roof and whatever the wind carries in. It is a thinner layer, but it settles hard in the bottom of the trough.
Why choose us
Why choose us for gutter cleaning in parksville
One visit for a whole complex
Strata councils and managers can book every building at once, with the shared runs cleared from one end to the other.
Easy for owners who are away
We work outside and need nobody home. Give us access details and we report back once the job is finished.
10+ years on island rooflines
More than a decade of gutter work on Vancouver Island, under the same fir, maple and cottonwood that grow here.
Insured, WCB-registered, guaranteed
Locally owned and operated, insured and WCB-registered, and every job is backed by our guarantee.

Strata complexes and townhouse rows
A townhouse row often runs one continuous gutter across several units, with a downspout every unit or two. When one outlet blocks, water backs along the run and spills over in front of a neighbour’s door, not the owner’s. That is why we prefer to clear a shared run end to end in one go. Councils and managers can book a whole complex through our strata gutter cleaning service, and we work building by building so nothing gets missed.
Rentals and second homes
Plenty of Parksville properties sit empty for weeks at a time, or change hands between guests every few days. An overflowing corner on a house like that can run all winter with nobody there to see it. We need nobody home, only access to the yard. Once we finish, we let you know what we cleared and anything we noticed at the roof edge.

When to book in Parksville
For a house under maple, book after the leaves are down in late fall. Under fir, a spring visit catches what the winter storms brought down. Near cottonwood, an early summer clean is worth adding. If a gutter is overflowing right now, send us a note and we will come and look.
Other towns we cover from here
Our service area runs along the coast and inland from Parksville. French Creek and Qualicum Beach lie to the north-west, and Highway 19A carries on through Dashwood, Qualicum Bay and Bowser. Nanoose Bay is to the south-east. Inland are Errington and Coombs, with Hilliers beyond Coombs off Highway 4.

Got questions?
Questions from Parksville homeowners
Do you take on whole strata complexes, or only single units?
Both. A council or property manager can book every building in a complex as one job, and we work through the units in order so the shared runs are cleared end to end. An individual owner can also book their own unit, as long as the strata is happy for us to set a ladder on common property.
Our place is a holiday rental that is booked solid in summer. When can you come?
Between guests works well, and so does the shoulder season once the rental calendar thins out. We only need the outside of the building, so a guest checking out in the morning is not a problem. Tell us the gate code or where the side access is, and whether a guest might be on site.
There is white fluff packed into our gutters in early summer. What is it?
Most likely cottonwood seed. Black cottonwood grows along river banks and releases cotton-covered seed in late spring. It is light when dry, but once it gets wet it mats into a felt that sits across the downspout opening and holds water behind it. It scoops out easily, and the downspout gets flushed afterward to make sure none of it went down.
Do you check the downspouts too, or only the gutters?
Every downspout gets water run through it once the trough is clean. If one drains into a buried line and the water backs up, we tell you where and what we saw. Clearing an underground line is not something we do, but you will know it needs looking at before the winter rain tests it.
Which towns around Parksville do you cover?
French Creek, Qualicum Beach, Nanoose Bay, Errington, Coombs, Hilliers, Qualicum Bay, Bowser and Dashwood, as well as Parksville itself. Each has its own page on this site with the details for that area.
