Came out and quoted my gutters the same day I requested it! Came out and cleaned my gutters and did some repair while they were up there for a reasonable price! Going to use them for my windows in the spring. Great service
Amazing! Sent in a request form on their website in the morning, heard back that afternoon, and booked for the next day. Very fast, reliable, and efficient.

Errington is rural land south-west of Parksville, off Highway 4A, with the Englishman River running past and Englishman River Falls Provincial Park at its edge. Most homes sit on acreage, set back from the road among tall Douglas fir and cedar. That shapes the gutter job more than anything else: there is no city storm drain waiting at the bottom of the downspout, the roof spends much of the day in shade, and getting to the house can take some planning.
We clean gutters and downspouts throughout Errington, from the village crossroads out to the acreages toward Coombs and Hilliers.
Where the water goes after the downspout
On a rural lot, rain from the roof goes onto the ground. A downspout might empty onto a splash block, into a ditch, into a pipe that runs off downhill, or into a pit of rock. When the gutter is full, none of that matters, because the water goes over the edge instead and lands right along the foundation, often on the uphill side where the ground already drains poorly.
So we follow the water. After the trough is clean, we run water down every downspout and watch where it comes out. If a splash block has sunk or turned, we tell you. If a downspout feeds a buried pipe and the water backs up instead of draining, we point it out so you can have the line dug up or cleared. That part is not our work, but you should know about it before the winter rain arrives.

Shade, moss and the north side of the roof
Under tall conifers, the side of a roof that faces away from the sun can stay wet for weeks at a time. Moss grows thick on those shingles, and every heavy rain sends loose clumps into the gutter. Mixed with fir needles, they form a dense mat that soaks up water and holds it against the metal.
We lift that mat out by hand rather than trying to blast it loose. If the moss on the roof itself is heavy, we will mention it, since it will keep feeding the gutter until something is done about it.

On the job

Getting to the house
Long gravel driveways, locked gates, dogs, livestock and power lines running out to a shop are all normal here, and all of them affect where we park and where a ladder can safely stand. Overhead service lines matter most: we will not set an aluminum ladder anywhere near one. Tell us about these things when you ask for a quote and we will plan around them.
Why choose us
Why choose us for gutter cleaning in errington
We follow the water down
Each downspout gets flushed, and we look at where the water goes once it leaves the pipe.
Outbuildings included
Workshop, barn, garage or woodshed: if it has a gutter, we can clean it on the same trip.
10+ years on island roofs
Over a decade of gutter work on Vancouver Island rooflines, much of it under tall conifers.
Insured, WCB-registered, guaranteed
Locally owned and operated, insured and WCB-registered, and our work comes with a guarantee.

Close to the park
Homes near Englishman River Falls Provincial Park back onto mature forest. A windstorm brings down needles, cones and small branches all at once, and the gutters on the side facing the trees take most of it. If those gutters fill every year, fine-mesh gutter guards can cut down the work, fitted only once the trough is clean.
Send us your address and a note about the buildings and the trees. We will come out and give you a free quote.

Errington gutter cleaning FAQ
Our well shed has a small gutter that drains toward the wellhead. Is that something you look at?
Yes. We clean that gutter and flush its downspout like any other, and we show you where the water lands. If it runs toward the wellhead, we point it out. Turning the downspout to send the water somewhere else is gutter repair work, which we can quote. Anything to do with the well itself is for a well contractor.
We have animals loose on the property. How do you handle that?
Tell us before the visit. We close every gate behind us, and if dogs, horses or poultry share the yard with the house, we would rather work out with you where they will be than meet them at the bottom of a ladder.
How do I know the gutters need doing?
Look in heavy rain. Water spilling over the front edge, a stripe of dirt down the siding, a downspout that barely trickles while the gutter overflows, or green growth along the gutter lip all mean it is time. Plants growing out of a gutter mean it is well past time.
Can you add an extra downspout to a long gutter?
Yes, that falls under our gutter repair work. A long run with an outlet only at each end often overflows in the middle, and a third outlet can fix that. We will tell you if that is what the gutter needs after we have cleaned and flushed it.
